China plans to approve imports of U.S. chipmaker Nvidia's H200 as early as the first quarter, sources told Bloomberg.

According to information, the country is preparing to allow Chinese companies to purchase Nvidia's H200 chips for commercial purposes. However, the components will not be allowed in, among other things, the military, critical infrastructure, or by state-owned companies.

In December, US President Donald Trump gave Nvidia permission to sell the H200 AI chip to China. In return, 25 percent of the revenue will go to the US government.

Chinese companies such as Alibaba and ByteDance have previously expressed interest in purchasing the chips.
