The Iranian attack struck a Saudi air base on Friday, injuring at least ten American service members, two of them seriously, according to sources.
Tankers were also reportedly damaged in the attack, which was carried out with missiles and drones.
Meanwhile, airstrikes against Iran continue. Israel's military said Saturday night that it had carried out attacks on Iranian "regime targets" and that it is "currently attacking targets belonging to the Iranian terrorist regime throughout Tehran".
An AFP journalist in the capital Tehran reported in connection with the statement that he heard about ten loud explosions and saw a column of black smoke in the area.
