During the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, Chase revealed that he is working on an indie film about the psychedelic drug LSD and “a young college DJ.” More details are available about the upcoming HBO series “Project: MKUltra,” based on the true story of chemist Sidney Gottlieb, who led the CIA’s secret and deadly experiments with LSD and brainwashing during the Cold War.
"Charles Manson might have gotten LSD from MKUltra; all these other people took LSD, like Cary Grant. To me, it's almost comical. It's absurd. I like the irony that they wanted to make LSD a weapon, but it became a party drug and a very spiritual experience," Chase said.
