The shares in the Japanese investment giant Softbank rose by about 13 percent during Thursday morning after they had made it clear with ABB the day before about the acquisition of the company's Robotics division for 5.4 billion dollars, equivalent to just over 50 billion kronor.
In addition, Softbank-owned chip manufacturer Graphcore is expected to invest 1.3 billion dollars in India, among other things in the form of a new research center, reports Bloomberg.
The Japanese stock exchanges showed positive figures. At lunchtime, the Nikkei 225 index had risen 1.4 percent while Topix rose 0.3 percent.
Chinese Shenzhen went up 2.0 percent in Thursday's initial trading, while Hong Kong-based Hang Seng fell back 0.1 percent.
