Soft drink giant Coca-Cola misses sales target

Soft drink giant Coca-Cola, whose portfolio includes brands such as Fanta and Schweppes, is under pressure in futures trading following an accounting report.

In its financial statements, Coca-Cola presents a forecast of sales growth of 4-5 percent in 2026, which can be compared with analysts' expectations of just over 5 percent ahead of the report.

Earnings per share for the fourth quarter rose slightly more than expected, to 58 cents. This compares with 55 cents per share in the fourth quarter of 2024 and an average forecast of 57 cents per share.

However, net sales of $11.8 billion in the quarter were just below the expected $12.0 billion.
