This weekend, guard Sofia Persson was also named the most valuable player in the basketball league this season. The Luleå star then went out and carried her team to a second consecutive Swedish Championship gold medal.
Persson was the best on the field with her 29 points as Luleå won the third final 94–64. After the first period, the home team led 25–8.
After a 3–0 series sweep, Luleå has now won ten Swedish Championship gold medals since their first title in 2014.
Södertälje suffered a major setback when star Amanda Zahui was forced to withdraw from the first SM final. Although it was not as serious an injury as first feared, the former international did not play in any further finals.
