"The high prices are particularly challenging for many single parents, especially single mothers," the motion states.
Another proposal to support households is to lower the electricity tax on power plants' large-scale heat pumps to hold back price increases on district heating.
"Now we risk another inflation shock with increased fuel prices, energy prices and increased interest rates," S writes in the motion.
The party has included several of the proposals in previous budget motions.
Want to see discipline
Economic policy spokesman Mikael Damberg (S) criticizes the government for waste and poor budget discipline. He points out that the government's investments in the spring budget of 7.7 billion kronor are financed with loans, despite Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (M) saying that the money for new investments in the next term has run out.
"It will affect us in the form of higher interest rates, poorer welfare and poorer preparedness in an uncertain world," says Damberg.
However, S says yes to most of the government's proposals in the spring budget, such as reduced fuel taxes and a new electricity subsidy. The party is critical of how the electricity subsidy is designed.
Bank tax pays
In addition to the government's investments, S is proposing its own investments of SEK 2.8 billion. Of this amount, increased child benefit and temporarily increased maintenance support cost SEK 500 million. S is also proposing SEK 400 million for electric car bonuses and electrification of heavy vehicles.
Damberg emphasizes that all of the party's own proposals are more than fully financed by a temporary tax on banks' interest margins when profits exceed a historical average. The tax is expected to raise four billion kronor.
The parties' spring budget motions do not cover their entire economic policy but focus primarily on the proposals that they believe are important to introduce already this year, given the economic situation.
