"The point of a group ban is to keep track of where the tax money goes, so that the money cannot be funneled around the group and end up in Saudi Arabia or in hunting lodges," the party's education policy spokesperson Anders Ygeman told TV4 Nyheterna.

According to the Social Democrats, the ban will help "break the oligopoly of school groups." The party also wants to adapt permit processes to make it easier for faith-based schools, introduce a profit ban within independent school groups, and introduce a municipal veto on the establishment of independent schools.
