The messages, sent to several of the party's more than 75,000 followers, urged recipients to deposit money into a cryptocurrency account. The messages included a picture of YouTube star Mr Beast's account on X, as well as an image of a cash withdrawal.
This was later followed by a message from the Social Democrats to “please disregard the two previously sent images.” It is unclear how the breach occurred or how many followers received the messages.
