Anders Ygeman, spokesperson on social insurance issues, says to the radio channel that there is a "risk of pushing women away from the labor market" since the supplement increases with the number of children born.

Several studies have shown that it is not sufficiently accurate. We therefore want the support to families with children in these difficult times to become stronger and more accurate, which is why we also want to increase the child allowance, says Anders Ygeman to the radio channel.

A supplement of 150 kronor per month, in addition to the child allowance, is paid out to parents with two children. With three children, the supplement increases to 730 kronor, with four children to 1,740 kronor, and with six children, the supplement is up to 4,240 kronor.
