In total, the Social Democratic Party's culture budget amounts to just over 18 billion kronor. Among the initiatives is a new allocation of 300 million kronor intended for a cultural guarantee for children and young people.
"It should be easy to participate in and practice culture. Therefore, we want to begin the introduction of a cultural guarantee in school, so that all children can experience culture, regardless of the size of their parents' wallet. With a cultural guarantee, all students are guaranteed to go to a concert, visit a museum, see a movie or attend a concert every term", says Björn Wiechel, the party's cultural policy spokesperson in a press release.
Among the party's other initiatives in the cultural area are increased allocations to study associations of 350 million kronor and grants for regional cultural activities of 100 million.
