The government has been laughably bad at taking young people's housing problems seriously, claims Elfva Barrio, chairwoman of S-students.
According to the party's economic policy spokesman Mikael Damberg, one aim is also to accelerate low-cost housing construction. One requirement for the support S intends is that rents be kept at a reasonable level.
You only get support if you build at reduced rents, says Damberg, claiming that experience from previous support shows that it works.
Similar support should also be granted for housing in locations where new industries are established, to address an increased housing need that the municipality cannot meet alone.
