"Herring and Baltic herring must be given a chance to recover. We have already seen what happened to cod when politicians acted too late. We do not intend to make the same mistake again. Large-scale industrial fishing of herring and Baltic herring must be stopped if we are to keep it in the future," party secretary Tobias Baudin says in a press release.
The party also wants to make the relocated trawl limit permanent and review the distribution of Swedish fishing quotas.
Sweden has previously called for a pause in large-scale industrial fishing of herring and Baltic herring in the Baltic Sea.
