He accuses the government of having failed with the economic policy during the term of office. According to Damberg, it has meant lost years when it comes to getting unemployment down, getting growth going and supporting pressured households.
That the government is now presenting new initiatives for almost 80 billion in the budget bill for 2026, Damberg sees as a sign that one has lost control over the economic policy.
Most of the content of the budget, which is presented in its entirety on Monday, is already known.
There are almost no growth measures, one is not doing enough for welfare yet and one is still leaving certain groups completely in the lurch, says Damberg.
- The unfair economic policy is one of the explanations for why we have such low growth in Sweden.
Damberg is calling for initiatives for housing construction, roads and railways, as well as a more active industrial policy. He wants to see increased child benefits, abolished waiting days and a reinstated high-cost protection for medicines.
