It is already snowing lightly in several places in Sweden over the weekend. Larger amounts are expected next week, along with increasing winds.
On Monday, there may be slightly heavier snowfall, especially in Skåne, Blekinge, southern Kalmar County and southern Öland. But it will subside on Tuesday, says Therese Fougman, meteorologist at SMHI.
Temperatures will continue to be below zero in almost the entire country next week. In the far south it will be around zero, while in the north on Thursday it could drop to minus 25–30 degrees.
There may also be new snowfall that will move up over Götaland on Thursday and Friday, but it is uncertain how heavy it will be, says Therese Fougman.
