Sunday's super-G in Zauchensee will not take place. The difficult weather conditions have put an end to the competition, with heavy snowfall and strong winds making it impossible to complete the race.

The announcement came on Sunday morning, just the day after Lindsey Vonn dominated the downhill race and took her second victory of the season - a clear statement of strength from the American star.

Now, however, she is missing out on the chance to build on her success.

"Today's super-G is canceled due to heavy snowfall during the night and strong winds at the top of the hill," the organizer announced.

No Swedish skiers were on the start list for the competition.
