Four men are being prosecuted on suspicion of having smuggled in and handled large quantities of narcotics and doping substances.
According to the police, a total of over 1.2 million narcotics-classified tablets are involved. About a third have been sent to 751 buyers across the country, while the rest have been stored as a stockpile.
Three of the men – aged 35-60 – are suspected of extremely serious narcotics offenses and serious doping offenses. A fourth man in his 50s is suspected of gross narcotics smuggling.
"The main trio is suspected of having been involved in the handling of very large quantities of narcotics-classified tablets and doping substances by retrieving, packaging, transporting, and posting shipments in various mailboxes in Gothenburg," says Johan Ekström, investigation leader in Police Region West.
The prosecutor is also seeking deportation for three of the men.
