In the 83rd minute of the Super League clash against Manchester United, Holmberg was given the honor of coming on to make her debut for Arsenal.
At that stage, the match was 0–0, which was also the final score.
The right-back, who missed the decisive penalty for Sweden against England in the quarter-finals of this summer's European Championship, left Hammarby after the season in which she scored six goals in 26 matches in the Swedish women's league.
It was also a Swedish debut for the opposing team. Hanna Lundkvist, who signed for United at the end of last year, made her first appearance for the club in the 71st minute. She previously played in San Diego.
Stina Blackstenius also came on from the bench for Arsenal.
Three Swedes started for the away team, Manchester United: Anna Sandberg, Julia Zigiotti Olme and Fridolina Rolfö.
Arsenal are third in the Super League. Manchester United are fourth.
