The risk is high between 11:00 and 19:00 on Sunday in large parts of Götaland, in Svealand and parts of southern Norrland, as well as large parts of the northern Norrland coast. Öland and Gotland are also included.
The same assessment also applies on Saturday for largely the same areas.
Grass fires broke out in several places during the day - including outside Halmstad, Mullsjö in Småland, Motala in Östergötland, Grums in Värmland, Västerås, and Forsmark in northern Uppland.
Spring increases the risk as the snow melts and dry, flammable grass from last year is exposed. SMHI urges great caution when lighting fires in gardens or using large machinery outdoors.
