There is a great or very great risk of forest and grass fires in parts of the country, according to the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute.

In parts of western Götaland, eastern Götaland and eastern Svealand, the risk of forest fires is high in many areas throughout much of Monday.

The public is alerted that, for example, fires and sparks from machines or lightning strikes can lead to fires and that these can easily spread in forests and terrain.

A tip is to check if a fire ban is in effect in your area.

In northern Norrland's coastal and inland areas, parts of Ångermanland, and in snow-free areas in the mountain ranges from northern Dalarna to southern Lapland's mountains, there is simultaneously a high or very high risk of grass fires.

In the text on SMHI's website, it states that fires can easily arise and spread in dry last year's grass, for example, through fires or sparks from machines.

At the same time, rain showers can pass through the areas, which can reduce the fire risk.
