Although temperatures are expected to stay around 20 degrees in the southern half of Sweden on Monday, fires are expected to spread easily in forests and brush.

SMHI points to an area that roughly extends between Gävle, Gothenburg and Oskarshamn where there is a high to very high risk of forest fire on Monday.

The high fire risk is expected to persist until at least 11 p.m. People in the area are urged to check whether there is a fire ban.
