The yellow warning previously issued for parts of northern Sweden on Monday has been expanded and now applies to large parts of both central Norrland and Norrbotten counties. SMHI writes on its website that 35-70 mm of rain may fall during the day and that there is a risk of flooding.

The authority has also previously issued an orange warning for high temperatures in parts of Blekinge, Kalmar and Kronoberg counties.

SMHI has three levels of weather warnings:

Yellow warning: Consequences for society, some risk to the public.

Orange warning: Serious consequences for society, danger to the public.
