The warning applies to parts of eastern Norrbotten County and includes the municipalities of Luleå, Boden, Älvsbyn, Kalix and Överkalix.
Residents in affected areas are advised to seal their basements or move items that are at risk of water damage. Waterways such as gutters and storm drains should also be cleared to allow water to drain away unhindered.
Furthermore, there is a risk of flooding on roads and viaducts.
The warning is currently in effect until noon on Saturday.
