On Thursday, a low-pressure system will move in, bringing rain to southern and central Sweden. As it then moves east over Finland, northerly winds may push the cold air further south. Dalarna and northern Värmland may therefore see their first snowfall, according to SMHI (the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute).
On Saturday, a broad low-pressure system will move in, bringing rain to large parts of the country. In parts of Norrland, the cold may mean that some of the precipitation falls as snow or sleet.
Although slightly milder air is moving into the south, meteorological autumn is likely to advance further south this week, SMHI writes.
Meteorological autumn means an average daily temperature below 10 degrees for at least five consecutive days.
