Heavy showers could locally bring large amounts of rain in a short time and cause flooding on Saturday in Västra Götaland County and parts of Jönköping, Örebro and Värmland counties.
It is a low pressure system moving in and at the same time it has drawn in colder air, so these rain showers will probably be heavy, says Fanny Saarela.
Weather changes
The rain is due to start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and the warning is in effect until 10 p.m. This represents a significant change in weather after last week's heat wave, with temperatures reaching 30 degrees.
Yes, it will really be noticeable in the temperatures. On Saturday in this area we might still reach 20 degrees locally, but otherwise between 15 and 20. On Sunday we will have to settle for 15 degrees.
Cooler temperatures
At the same time, the ground is dry after the warm weather over the past week, so the risk of flooding is reduced.
We have a fairly dry climate, so the soil is still good at absorbing it. But it is clear that in cities, on hard surfaces, there can be flooding on roads, viaducts and so on.
And the cooler temperatures will stick around.
I don't see a return to this warm weather we've had now, says Fanny Saarela.
In the far north, there may even be snow on Saturday.
There may be some snow on the highest peaks in the mountains.
