During the night towards Sunday, a precipitation area with persistent rain is expected to move in over Svealand. Locally, it may become heavy showers with large amounts of rain in a short time – up to between 30 and 50 millimeters.

SMHI has issued a yellow warning and sees, among other things, a risk of flooding in basements and on roads. The warning applies to the northern part of Stockholm County, Uppsala County, Västmanland County, the northern part of Örebro County, Dalarna south of Siljan and southern Gävleborg County.

At the same time, SMHI is flagging high temperatures in central and northern Norrland. The maximum daytime temperature is expected to reach 26–30 degrees during the weekend in an area that stretches from Sundsvall to south of Kiruna.

According to SMHI, the heat means an increased risk of health problems, especially for risk groups such as people with underlying diseases, the elderly or small children.
