The extended warning applies to parts of northwestern Svealand and southern Norrland.

"On Thursday morning, an area of rain will move in from the southwest. Rain and freezing rain are expected to fall on cold surfaces and form ice."

Yellow warnings for sudden ice slippage are also in place for parts of northern Svealand, Gävleborg County and southern Svealand.

"Drive carefully and adapt your speed to the road conditions," SMHI writes on its website.
