According to a US lawsuit filed by Clarkson Law Firm, Meta's glasses are marketed with promises that they are "built for your privacy," giving customers no reason to suspect that their recordings are being monitored by foreign workers.

The law firm says users cannot opt out of recordings being stored in a database for review.

Meta says contractors review the information to improve the experience, which is described in Meta's privacy policy.

Svenska Dagbladet and Göteborgs-Posten have investigated Meta. According to the newspapers, users' recorded content is distributed to different places around the world without users realizing it.
