The plane crash occurred on Friday, and videos circulating on social media show wreckage from the aircraft falling to the ground.
Chinese authorities now say that the pilot, who was alone on board the plane, died in the crash. Thirteen others are said to have been injured.
The cause of the crash is unclear.
The skyscraper, Beijing's tallest, is 109 stories high and rises just over 520 meters above the ground.
