Stockholm Stock Exchange starts week down as Trump tariff threats dampen market sentiment

At lunchtime on Monday, the OMXS index hovered around flat, but then fell back after Trump made new statements.

The mining sector performed best among the most traded OMXS30 companies. Boliden closed up 1.9 percent while peer Epiroc rose 2.0 percent.

At the other end of the index was the Wallenberg Sphere venture capital company EQT, which lost 8.9 percent. Defense group Saab fell 3.0 percent.

During the day, it emerged that the Swedish-Chinese car manufacturer Volvo Cars is recalling just over 40,300 units of its electric EX30. The stock fell 4.0 percent.

The krona weakened against the dollar, which at 5:30 p.m. was trading at 9.05 kronor. The price of gold rose and now stands at $5,211 per ounce.
