This weekend's tariff moves by President Donald Trump appear to have had little impact on the market. Futures trading on the New York Stock Exchange indicates a decline of 0.8 percent, while the Stockholm Stock Exchange looks set to fall around 0.4 percent.
On the Asian markets, there is instead a clear rise, with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's Hang Seng index up 2.2 percent, while the Tokyo Stock Exchange is closed.
Cryptocurrencies, on the other hand, are experiencing a significantly larger decline, with Bitcoin falling 4.1 percent while Ether is down 4.6 percent.
