"Based on the August indicator and the trend in the number of new unemployment insurance applications, the reduction in unemployment appears to be very slow as summer turns to autumn," says Alejandro Firpo, chairman of Sweden's unemployment insurance funds, in a press release.
The number of new unemployment insurance applications rose by 6 percent in August to almost 26,300, compared with July, according to statistics from Sweden's unemployment insurance funds.
