1–0 came with just under two minutes left in the first period, before Slovakia pulled away to 4–0 in the second period, including two goals in 30 seconds.
Germany got a penalty with five minutes left in the second period. Lukas Reichel was played through by Draisaitl.
Barely a minute into the third period, however, Slovakia extended its lead to 5–1 through Pavol Regenda, who accounted for two goals and an assist in the match.
Fredrik Tiffels scored another German goal with ten minutes left, but Slovakia closed again, scoring into an empty net to make it 6–2.
Who Slovakia will face in the semi-finals will be decided later on Wednesday.
