It was a weak upward trend for leading indexes on the stock exchange in Japan during Thursday's initial trading.
The Nikkei 225 index was up 0.4 percent, while the broader Topix showed an increase of 0.3 percent.
The stock exchanges in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong are closed for the weekend. This also applies to the stock exchange in South Korea.
