Sky Sports in England are reporting that Alexander Isak has likely suffered a broken leg. Liverpool have not confirmed the report.

Sky Sports reports that the club is awaiting the results of a second MRI scan. The club fears that the Swedish international striker has suffered a fracture in his left lower leg, Sky Sports writes.

It is unclear whether Liverpool will make a statement on Monday.

Tomorrow, manager Arne Slot will hold a press conference ahead of Saturday's Premier League match against Wolverhampton.

Isak was injured while putting Liverpool ahead at Tottenham on Saturday night, having only been on the pitch for twelve minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute.

Playoffs in danger

Isak was tackled hard by Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven and his left leg was crushed.

The Swede was grinning mischievously as he received treatment. He was then helped by midfielder Jonathan Power and Chris Morgan, two members of Liverpool's medical staff.

If it is confirmed that Isak has suffered a fracture, his participation in the national team's playoff for the World Cup is in danger. Sweden will meet Ukraine in the semi-final in Valencia on March 26.

Victory in that match and the final await against either Poland or Albania at Strawberry Arena on March 31st.

Several English media outlets are speculating that Liverpool will act in the transfer market to cover for the sudden lack of offensive players. Cody Gakpo is already injured and Mohamed Salah is playing in the African Championships.

Is Semenyo recruiting?

According to The Guardian, among others, as quoted by Aftonbladet , Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo could become a hot topic.

Semenyo is said to have a buyout clause of approximately SEK 810 million.

Isak could be out for several months, which would be another tough injury blow for Liverpool. The situation will inevitably affect Liverpool's thinking ahead to the January transfer window, especially in attack, says transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
