SKF competitor Timken reports fourth-quarter sales and operating income above expectations

U.S. rival Timken reported net sales of $1.11 billion in the fourth quarter of last year.

That was more than expected for the ball-bearing manufacturer.

Analysts had expected sales of $1.07 billion on average, according to Bloomberg.

Adjusted operating income for the quarter was $177.8 million, also above the $170 million forecast.
