After a fire alarm forced the crowd to evacuate in Gävle, Skellefteå turned things around and beat Brynäs 4–3 in overtime. The yellow-and-black team is closing in on Frölunda at the top of the table. "Very nice," match hero Mikkel Aagaard told TV4.

A little into the second period, the fire alarm sounded at the stadium in Gävle. The stands had to be cleared of spectators before the supporters could enter the stadium again after a few minutes.

According to TV4 commentator Lasse Granqvist, the fire alarm was triggered by a dishwasher. The arena, including the stands, has reportedly been recently renovated, and the fire alarm has not been adapted to the new conditions.

As for the match, Skellefteå managed to win despite trailing before the third period.

Jonathan Pudas gave Skellefteå the lead after just 55 seconds. Then came three straight Brynäs goals in the second period to make it 3–1, followed by a goal from Rickard Hugg.

With a minute left in the third period, Oscar Lindberg tied the match, and in overtime Mikkel Aagaard decided the game for Skellefteå.

"I'm very proud of the whole team that we never give up. It's really fun that we leave here with a win," says Aagaard after the victory.

At the same time, top-placed Frölunda lost their fourth consecutive match, 3–4 at home to bottom-placed Linköping. There is now a three-point difference between Frölunda and second-placed Skellefteå.
