Skellefteå goalkeeper Strauss Mann was five minutes away from making history. But then his equipment malfunctioned - and the SHL goalkeeper had to change his equipment.

Strauss Mann has recorded nine shutouts this SHL season. If he does it again, he will break the record for most shutouts in a single season.

When Skellefteå faced the bottom-placed team Leksand, Mann looked set to break the record. At the end of the third period, the home team led 1–0, but then the goalie's equipment malfunctioned, and the referee forced Mann off the ice with just over five minutes left.

Mann returned to the game quickly, but the chance to break the record disappeared, as he had not been on the ice for the entire game.

With 21 seconds left, Leksand tied the game 1–1. In overtime, Leksand got another puck past Mann and took two important points in the battle at the bottom of the table.
