Skellefteå has been on a roll in both the regular season and the playoffs.

But the start of Game 4 of the quarterfinals was not a bed of roses for the Västerbotten team in the Swedish ice hockey championship playoffs.

Malmö came out energized in front of the home crowd and took the lead early in the first period through Robin Salo.

Skellefteå's response came in the second period from Oscar Vuollet.

The match went to overtime, where Malmö scored the decisive goal through Topi Niemela to stay alive in the quarterfinals.

Skellefteå won the regular season and therefore has home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs, meaning they have one more home game in each best-of-seven series.
