It was when Skarsgård accepted an award at the EFA gala this weekend that he criticized Trump - statements that are now being disseminated in foreign media.
Skarsgård took as his starting point Trump's actions in Venezuela and his threat to take over Greenland.
"It's absurd, isn't it? He's a little man with megalomania, and he's trying to take over the whole place. He's a criminal," Skarsgård said, according to NME.
Skarsgård's performance in the Norwegian film "Sentimental Value" also earned him a Golden Globe last week.
