Stellan Skarsgård is nominated for his role as the Swedish director Gustav in the Norwegian film "Sentimental Value" by Joachim Trier.
This is the second time Stellan Skarsgård has won a Golden Globe. The Swede won the award for his supporting role in the acclaimed TV series “Chernobyl” in 2020.

Skarsgård is a bit torn about this film awards thing.
- I'll manage anyway. But when you win, there's a little insecure boy inside who gets happy. An award is no measure of my quality, but it's a sign of appreciation, he says.
Skarsgård has spent an autumn traveling around the world to talk about “Sentimental Value.” He is currently in Paris. And soon he will be heading back to the United States.
Skarsgård is up against Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn, "One battle after another", as well as Adam Sandler, "Jay Kelly".

"Sentimental Value" is also nominated for best drama and direction, Joachim Trier, as well as for best actress in a drama, Renate Reinsve and Elle Fanning respectively, and for best screenplay and is now sailing up as a big favorite ahead of the Oscar nominations in January.
Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson has received two nominations, for the music for the film "Sinners" and for the song "I lied to you" from the same film, written together with Raphael Saadiq.
The Golden Globes are considered the second most prestigious awards ceremony in Hollywood after the Oscars. The Golden Globes organization awards awards in both film and television. The gala will be held on January 11th with comedian Nikki Glaser as host.
