Skanska wins SEK 1 billion contract to build radioactive waste halls in Forsmark

The order value is estimated at approximately SEK 1 billion.

"The storage rooms will be approximately 240-275 metres long and will be constructed at a depth of 120 to 140 metres in the rock, at the same level as the lowest part of the existing facility. The agreement covers rock works, civil works, ground and water works, and tunnel lining," writes Skanska.

The contract is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028, and the facility is then expected to be put into trial operation in 2030-2031.
