In connection with the power outage, long queues formed after the gates were forced to close. In particular, many school and preschool groups were disappointed and had to turn back.
However, the outage did not affect the safety of the animals, including electric fencing.
"We have backup generators at Skansen for situations like this, to ensure electricity supply for the animals," says Emelie Strömfors, press officer at Skansen.
According to network company Ellevio, the outage was expected to be resolved by 3 p.m.
