The major banks Nordea and SEB offered no interest at all on this type of savings account, while Handelsbanken and Swedbank offered 0.05 and 0.50 percent, respectively.
Skandiabanken's average variable mortgage interest rate was 2.56 percent in January, according to Zmarta. Ikano Bank had the highest variable interest rate at 2.80 percent.
The interest rate gap between banks' mortgage rates and savings rates increased in January to 2.17 percentage points, up from 2.16 percentage points the previous month, according to Zmarta.
