SK Hynix's operating profit for July to September was equivalent to around SEK 620 billion, according to the company. Its net profit also increased.
South Korea's Kospi surged 6.7 percent in Wednesday trading. Japan's Nikkei 225 index rose 1.5 percent, while the broader Topix gained 0.2 percent.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng climbed 0.5 percent. China's Shanghai Composite rose 0.7 percent, and Shenzhen was up 2.0 percent.
