The Polish woman won in 23.84. Sjöström touched the wall in 23.86, beaten by just two hundredths of a second. It was the Swede's second medal of the championship.
"She was ahead the whole way, from start to finish. It's a much tougher competition. I thought this time would be enough for gold, but she (Wasick) is an unpredictable swimmer and absolutely fantastic," Sjöström said, and continued:

European Championship bronze went to Italian Sara Curtis in 23.99.
