SJ spent the night and morning looking for faults in its X2000 trains, which paralyzed the operator's high-speed train services in Sweden.
On Sunday, a broken wheel was discovered, and SJ therefore wanted to ensure that no wheels from the same order had similar defects. The wheels are on 13 of the X2000 trains.
All X2000 traffic between Stockholm and Gothenburg and between Malmö and Karlstad was therefore cancelled on Monday morning and forenoon. Other trains, however, were running as usual, as were those operated by SJ's competitor VR.
SJ's high-speed train service began running again at 2 p.m.
Traffic resumed at 2 p.m. The vast majority of trains will run according to schedule, says Kraméus.
SJ says it has contacted all affected travelers. Inger Pettersson was told that her vacation trip to Norway was cancelled due to “vehicle failure” and was offered the option to cancel her trip free of charge.
That's what they write. But who pays for the hotel, three nights in Oslo, for example? They don't write about that. The trip cost 1,800 and the hotel 5,000 kronor.
