State-owned SJ's profit decreased during the last quarter. The operating result amounted to 351 million kronor compared to 361 million the same period the previous year. The profit decline also means that the operating margin fell, from 10.6 percent to 9.8 percent.
SJ states that disruptions mainly caused by weather conditions came to affect and entail delay costs. However, SJ does not disclose how much they paid out in compensation to passengers who were delayed.
”The railway has received much attention in the general debate and media during the past quarter, and rightly so. SJ's delivery was noticeably affected by disruptions in the infrastructure and many passengers were affected”, writes CEO Monica Lingegård in a press release.
