Sizzling Forsberg extended goal streak

Nashville's Filip Forsberg has gone from ice-cold to red-hot. In the 6-2 win over Minnesota, the 30-year-old scored two goals and two assists – and extended the league's current longest goal streak to five matches.

After an 18-match goalless streak, it has really opened up for the left forward, who has scored six goals in the last five matches and a total of 12 points in the last seven.

In tonight's match against Minnesota, he led his team to a convincing win with two goals and two assists.

It's impossible to explain, but I'm apparently doing something different since the result is different, says Forsberg to Sportbladet.

The first goal, in power play in the first period, was Forsberg's 81st goal in numerical superiority – a new club record.

Nashville has otherwise had a tough season and is at the bottom of the Western Conference, far from the playoff battle. But the win against top team Minnesota was the team's third straight and possibly something to build on.
