Sixty-six of 69 victims identified after deadly train crash in Spain

Sixty-six of the 69 victims of last week’s train crash in Spain have been identified. Most of them were Spanish citizens.

The dead include 54 Spaniards, four Americans and two Italians, the Italian news agency Ansa reported. The rest of those identified are from a number of countries, including Portugal and France.

Three victims have yet to be identified. Two Australians and a Japanese national remain missing after Wednesday's accident near Toledo, and are believed to be among the unidentified victims.

Twenty-nine people remain in hospital, nine of them in intensive care.

The accident occurred when a high-speed train travelling from Madrid to Seville crashed into another high-speed train that was stationary on the tracks. It is the second fatal high-speed train accident in Spain this year.
