Six Swedish motorsport districts call for extraordinary meeting over federation board’s handling of rally finances

Six of the Swedish Motorsport Association’s (SBF’s) 12 districts have lost confidence in the federation board and are calling for an extraordinary federation meeting, they say in a statement.

The districts of Övre Norrland, Mellannorrland, Nedre Norrland, Södra, Gothenburg and Västra are behind the demand.

The background is the critical financial situation linked to the Swedish Rally, which is run by the SBF's company, Rally Sweden AB.

“We believe the federal board is not taking the financial responsibility it needs to take given the situation we are in. This has been going on for a long time, but now it is urgent. We have gone from neglect, bad business and a steady stream of money flowing out of the business to having no money left - but a lot of debt. And it is the members’ money they have spent,” says Per-Erik Norbäck of the Mellannorrland district to Värmlands Folkblad.
